Mukesh Thakur, New Delhi. The incident that took place on December 19 at Terminal 1 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) has now taken a new turn. Air India Express Captain Virendra Sejwal, while presenting his side, has completely rejected Ankit Dewan's claims. Captain Sejwal says that the picture being presented on social media is beyond the facts and he is being deliberately defamed.
misbehavior in front of daughter
While talking to 'Dainik Jagran', Captain Sejwal said that Ankit is garnering sympathy for the innocent girl by complaining about being beaten, but the truth is the opposite. The Captain alleged that he himself abused and threatened my family in front of his 7 year old daughter. At that time he did not realize the mental impact it was having on his little daughter. He clarified that the scuffle broke out only when his family's honor was at stake. Not only this, his family was given such threats which are unimaginable in any civilized society.
He says that the dispute escalated into a physical scuffle, in which he too was injured. Despite the persuasion of the CISF personnel present at the spot during the incident, the other side was not ready to calm down. However, later in the presence of officials, both the parties mutually signed the agreement and decided not to take legal action.
also made caste based comments
He was not on duty at that time and was on a private visit as an ordinary traveller. Now it is being defamed by calling it a professional dispute so that my image can be tarnished. This was purely a personal dispute initiated by the other party. He alleged that Ankit not only abused but also made caste based comments. Dragging his company or profession into this personal controversy is just an attempt to gain cheap popularity on social media and tarnish his image. He has appealed to the public and media to rely on the ground truth and official facts instead of the one-sided video going viral.
Even after three days the police is waiting for the complaint
Ankit Dewan created a lot of buzz after the incident by sharing his bloody pictures and videos on social media, but even after three days of the incident, no formal written complaint was lodged with the Delhi Police till the night of 21st December. On the other hand, as soon as the matter gained momentum, Air India Express has suspended Captain Sejwal and started investigation. Also, after it went viral on social media, the Civil Aviation Ministry has also taken cognizance of this matter and directed the airlines to take action.
