State Bureau, Shimla. Himachal government will continue development work despite financial challenges. In the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, there was discussion on stopping wasteful expenditure and generating additional sources of income. Ministers have been asked to prepare presentations of their departments, in which measures to stop unnecessary expenses and increase revenue will be suggested. घाटे वाले बोर्डों को मजबूत करने पर भी विचार किया गया।
The Chief Minister asked all the cabinet ministers to prepare a detailed presentation of their respective departments and give it to the cabinet. Explain in this how they can raise resources in addition to income in their respective departments. What unnecessary expenses are being incurred in the departments, which are not providing any benefit to the people? Revenue can be saved by stopping these.
Discussion on merging loss making boards and corporations
The government has decided that the boards of corporations will be strengthened. If there is any change to be made in the grants given on concessional travel, water bills, electricity and public distribution system in HRTC, then recommendations regarding the same will be given in the presentation, after which it will be placed in the cabinet.
The finance department should give suggestions, the government will take the decision.
Industry and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Harsh Vardhan Chauhan said that the financial situation has been explained in the presentation given by the Finance Department. He said that the government has decided that apart from Sahara, Him Care and MIS, no other scheme will be closed. Grants from Electricity Board and HRTC will also continue. All plans will continue.
He said that the governments till date have hidden the financial situation. The state government has shown courage and given live information about the financial situation of the state to the people of the state. He said that the state is in a period of economic crisis due to the closure of RDG.
Assembly session will be held on the lines of Lok Sabha
The budget session was discussed in the meeting. Under the change in the system, the budget session will also be on the lines of Lok Sabha. There will be Governor's address on the first day. The session will run for three days. The date for which the budget will be presented in March has not been decided yet.
