In Delhi, Miscreants Attacked A Young Man With A Broken Beer Bottle For Not Giving Him Matchsticks, Three Accused Arrested

Jagran correspondent, New Delhi. The team of DBG Road police station of Central District has arrested three accused who attacked with a broken beer bottle for not giving matchsticks, within 72 hours of the incident.

The broken beer bottle used in the crime has also been recovered. The arrested accused have been identified as Hammad alias Rizwan of Bada Hindu Rao, Kamran alias Sarim of Sadar Bazar and Farzan of Old Mustafabad.

The victim was making a reel with a friend

According to the Deputy Commissioner of Central District, an incident of attempt to murder was reported in Ajmal Khan Park at around 4 pm on December 15. The complainant said that he was making an internet media reel with his friend, when three unknown persons who were drinking nearby started misbehaving with him.

When he protested, the three accused beat up the complainant. Meanwhile, one of the accused broke a beer bottle and hit the complainant on the head with its pointed part, causing serious injuries. The injured was immediately shifted to N.C. Karol Bagh. Joshi was admitted to the hospital and on the basis of his statement, a case of attempt to murder was registered and investigation was started.

Police reached the accused through the barcode on the bottle

During the investigation, a piece of a broken beer bottle was recovered from the spot, the barcode on which proved to be an important clue in the investigation. On the basis of barcode, nearby liquor shops were checked and the concerned shop was traced.

After this, CCTV footage of the shop and surrounding area was scrutinized, from which a scooter was identified. Then the accused were identified on the basis of CCTV footage and local information. After this, all three were arrested on 18 December.

During interrogation, the accused told that they had asked for matchsticks from the complainant, when he refused, he got angry and checked the pockets of the complainant, due to which the fight escalated and in the meantime, he attacked him with a beer bottle and ran away.
