Jagran correspondent, Kanpur. Those violating the rules have started roaming around with fake number plates to dodge the traffic police. This was exposed when the scooty of a CO posted in RPF parked in Aligarh was challaned in the city. The scooter is registered in the name of the RPF CO's wife. The accused are roaming around with the number plate of their scooty attached to the Apache bike.
The CO's wife and children use a scooter and have been in Aligarh for the last four years. He came to know about the fraud after receiving the message of the challan. He has complained to the online portal and the transport department. Presently posted as CO in Bengal as Assistant Security Commissioner (ASC) in Railway Protection Force (RPF). He has also been in-charge of RPF police station in the city.
Bought a scooter in wife's name
During his posting here, he had bought a scooter in the name of his wife. Which is run by his wife and children. In the year 2022, he got posting as RPF station in-charge at Aligarh Junction railway station, after which his family is living there. On completion of his three-year tenure, he got promotion as CO and is currently posted in Bengal, but the family is living in Aligarh.
At present, there are many challans on the scooter of the RPF officer, on investigation of which he came to know that the challans are being issued from the number plate of his scooter which is attached to the Apache bike in the city. DCP Traffic Ravindra Kumar said that written complaint has not been received yet. The challan will be canceled after investigation.
