Jagran correspondent, Shahjahanpur. The dispute that arose between the brothers regarding land distribution reached a bloody end. Prashant Singh, who was going with uncle Veeresh to offer water to Gogepur on Mahashivratri, was stopped by his own brothers by overtaking them in a Thar. Sensing danger, when he tried to run away, his father Awadhesh, who came from behind with a Scorpio, blocked his way.

When Veeresh tried to intervene, he was chased into the field and shot. Five people have been injured in the attacks with iron rods and sticks on both sides. Police have detained three.

Residents of Khamaria village live in Prashant South City Colony. He has set up a mini flour mill in Jamour, the operation of which was overseen by his uncle along with Veeresh. Prashant's four brothers were demanding a share in the mill, over which a dispute was going on. Prashant and Veeresh were going to Gogepur to offer water on Sunday evening.

When they reached near Khamaria village, Pradeep on Thar overtook them and stopped them. Veeresh asked to reverse the car, by then Prashant's brother Surjeet, Sanjeet, father Awadhesh along with others reached the Scorpio, due to which they could not escape. After this they started hitting the car with Thar.

The attackers shot with a spoon

When Veeresh came down and tried to explain, his brother and nephews started beating him. Prashant and Ramrahees, Natthu and the constable in the car were also taken down. After this, fighting started between both the parties.

When Veeresh ran towards the fields, the attackers shot him with a pistol, resulting in his death. Prashant, Natthu, Ramrahis, Sanjeet and Surjeet were injured in the incident. Sanjeet and two others have been detained. Prashant told that he used to operate an animal feed factory in Delhi along with his brothers Surjeet, Sanjeet, Pradeep and Vipin.

About two and a half years ago, he bought a plot of eight hundred yards in Jamour, Dadraul. After closing the factory for one and a half years, the five brothers returned back to the village. After this, Prashant installed a flour mill in half of the plot he had purchased and gave the remaining part on rent. Veeresh was unmarried and lived near her. The brothers were constantly asking for his share.

The incident took place in a land dispute

Prashant says that while working in Delhi, the five brothers had purchased 45 bighas of land in the name of their father Awadhesh. This also included a garden of 13 bighas, for which he alone had taken a loan of Rs 30 lakh and had mortgaged his wife's jewelery for Rs 10 lakh, but his father and brother were not repaying the loan. There was a rift regarding this.

Awadhesh says that Prashant unnecessarily got the plot in his name in Jamour. There was a dispute among the sons regarding this. He and Veeresh along with their companions had an altercation with their son Pradeep on the way. On receiving information, when he reached Scorpio with other sons, firing was taking place from both sides. In which those people also got injured.

He was shot dead in a land dispute. The case is being investigated. An FIR will be registered on the basis of the complaint. -Rajesh Dwivedi, SP.
