Jagran correspondent, Rudrapur. There has been a new twist in the death of a laborer living in the transit camp area under suspicious circumstances. Before his death, three people had beaten him brutally with sticks on suspicion of theft in the warehouse. Later they left her half naked. After which he died. However, the post mortem report has confirmed death due to heart attack. In this case, the police have registered an FIR for culpable homicide against the three accused who beat them with sticks. Also he has been arrested and sent to jail. SSP Manikant Mishra said that 42-year-old Pappu Verma, originally a resident of village Martuwa Saraiya of Ambedkar Nagar, police station Maharajganj, lived on rent in Transit Camp Azadnagar with his wife Rita Devi and two children. He left home on Sunday but did not reach home till late night. On Monday morning, Pappu's body was found in a semi-nude condition on the side of the road leading to Shimla Bahadur.
During this time, the deceased's wife told that Pappu was addicted to drinking alcohol and due to which she used to stay away from him. Seeing the injury marks found on his body, his relatives feared that he would be beaten to death. On this the police sent the body for post-mortem. SSP Manikant Mishra said that the post mortem report has confirmed Pappu's death due to heart attack in the cold.
Told that investigation revealed that at 4 am on Monday morning, three-four people saw Pappu entering the godown on suspicion of theft and beat him brutally with sticks. After which he threw it there and went away. After which he died. In this case, the police had registered an FIR against unknown people for culpable homicide on the complaint of Pawan Kumar, resident of Azadnagar Transit Camp, son-in-law of the deceased Pappu, and started the search.
Late on Monday night, the police arrested Yogesh Pandey, son of Vinay Kumar Pandey, resident of village Samri Kachhua Bazar Mirzapur Uttar Pradesh and resident of Hall Mahesh Thakur Godown Hanuman Dhal Shimla Bahadur Transit Camp, village Doumela Mirzamurad Varanasi and resident of Hall Mahesh Thakur Godown Hanuman Dhal Shimla Bahadur Transit Camp, near Riddhi-Siddhi located on Sidkul Road. Saroj s/o Kamlesh and village Madho Singh, police station Aurai Mirzapur Uttar Pradesh and Abu Talib s/o Mohd, resident of Hall Hanuman Dhal Shimla Bahadur Transit Camp. The lawyer was arrested. The police have produced all three in the court and sent them to jail.
