IND U19 vs. USA U19: Zimbabwe's history on the ground of Vaibhav Suryavanshi
Sports Desk, New Delhi. Vaibhav Suryavanshi record: India faces America in the first match of the ICC Under-19 World Cup. The opening match is being played at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. After winning the toss in this match, Indian team captain Ayush Mhatre decided to bowl first.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi created history as soon as he became a part of the playing-11. In this way he broke a big 16 year old record. Vaibhav has become the youngest player in the world to represent his country in the Under-19 World Cup history.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi created history on Zimbabwean soil
In fact, at the age of 14 years and 294 days, Vaibhav Suryavanshi created history on Zimbabwean soil in the opening match of the Under-19 World Cup 2026 against America. As soon as he stepped on the field, Vaibhav became the youngest player in the world to represent his country in the U19 World Cup. He broke the record of Nitish Kumar of Canada, who played a U19 World Cup match for his country in 2010 at the age of 15 years and 245 days.
Vaibhav recently took over the captaincy in the 3-match ODI series against South Africa's Under-19 team, and led the team to a 3-0 victory under his captaincy. In this series, Vaibhav scored 206 runs in the 3-match series at an average of 68.66 and strike rate of 187.27. For this he was the player of the series.
Vaibhav's eyes on Kohli's record
Vaibhav Suryavanshi also has his eyes set on the big record of Indian legend Virat Kohli. If Suryavanshi scores 6 runs in the opening match against America today, he will leave Kohli behind. Vaibhav has a chance to overtake King Kohli in the list of batsmen who have scored most runs in Youth ODI. 14 year old Vaibhav currently has 973 runs in his name in 18 innings, while Kohli had scored 978 runs in 25 innings.
