India Open 2026: Lin Chun Yi Won Men's Singles, Ahn Se Young Also Captured The Title

Sports Desk, New Delhi. Chinese Taipei's Lin Chun Yi won the men's singles and his first Super 750 title at the Indian Open badminton tournament on Sunday. In the women's category, South Korea's world number one player Ahn Se Young won her second title of the season by winning the singles title.

The 26-year-old Lynn, ranked 12th in the world, made a spectacular comeback after an early round exit at the Malaysia Open Super 1000 last week to defeat third seed Jonathan Christie 21-10, 21-18 in the final of the Indian Open. Lynn came to India in Kuala Lumpur with a hamstring strain but performed brilliantly throughout the tournament.

In women's singles, An Se Young defeated world number two Wang Ziyi of China 21-13, 21-11. In the final of the women's doubles category, China's top seeded women's pair of Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning defeated Japan's fifth seeded Yuki Fukushima and Saika Matsumoto 21-11, 21-18.

While in mixed doubles, Thailand's third seeded pair of Dechapol Puwaranukroh and Supisara Pavasampran defeated Denmark's pair of Mathias Christiansen and Alexandra Boje 19-21, 25-23, 21-18.
