Jagran correspondent, Srinagar. An encounter between security forces and Pakistan-backed terrorists has begun in Singhpora in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir. There was heavy firing from both sides. Seven soldiers were injured during the encounter. The injured soldiers have been taken to the hospital.
Many terrorists of Jaish-e-Mohammed are surrounded in the maze of security forces. Military officials said the encounter started in Singhpora area of Kishtwar district on Sunday.
He said that after receiving information about the presence of terrorists, security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area. During the search operation, the hidden terrorists started firing.
Additional security forces sent to the spot
After which the security forces retaliated. Additional security forces have been sent to the spot and the area has been cordoned off to prevent the terrorists from escaping.
Officials further said that firing was continuing in the area. Following intelligence reports, Kathua, Poonch, Rajouri, Kishtwar, Doda, Udhampur and Reasi of Jammu division are under surveillance of security forces. There were reports of presence of Pakistani terrorists in the densely forested hilly areas of these districts.

This operation is being led by 17 Rashtriya Rifles, 11 Rashtriya Rifles, Assam Rifles and 2 Para Special Forces are also helping the Jammu and Kashmir Police. There was intermittent firing throughout the day, but no terrorist could be captured by the security forces.
This is the same terrorist who is led by Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists Saifullah and Adil along with one or two more terrorists. The group of these terrorists has been active in this area for the last two years.
These terrorists sometimes roam around in the areas of Nedgaon, sometimes Kushal, sometimes Lohidhar, Tarashi, Gurinal, and Singhpura and so far around a dozen encounters have taken place with these terrorists.
