Jasan, Agra. Mantola police station in-charge has been removed from the post for not taking action on the complaint of a salesman who reached Mantola police station with a complaint of kidnapping and demanding ransom and for not informing the officers. Considering serious negligence, the Police Commissioner has not assigned him the responsibility of any police station. He has been removed from the police station and sent to the crime branch. Apart from this, in-charges of five police stations have been changed.
A saree company salesman, resident of Bhayandar West Sangam Apartment, Mumbai, had gone to Mantola police station on January 7 and complained to the station in-charge about kidnapping and extortion of Rs 1.20 lakh as ransom. Police investigation revealed that it was a case of assault and extortion of money due to homosexual relations.
Instead of taking any action on the complaint of the salesman, Mantola police station in-charge had sent the businessman to Etmaddaula police station, saying that the matter was of Etmaddaula area. He did not even inform the higher officials about the matter. Mantola Inspector Debkaran Singh has been removed from the post by Police Commissioner Deepak Kumar for being negligent in the case even after the complaint and sent him to the Crime Branch.
The Police Commissioner has made Kamla Nagar police station incharge Yogesh Kumar in-charge of the tourism police station. Tourism Police Station Head Ruby has been made in-charge of Women and Child Protection Organization. Shaili Rana, posted in-charge of Women and Child Protection Organization, has been made in-charge of Mantola police station.
Inspector Shamsabad Police Station Pawan Kumar has been made Inspector Kamla Nagar and Crime Inspector Ekta Police Station Surendra Rao has been made Inspector-in-charge Shamsabad. DCP City Syed Ali Abbas said that there are clear instructions to all the police station in-charges that irrespective of the police station where the incident took place, if the victim reaches their police station, they should listen to the complaint seriously.
