Alok Tiwari, Kanpur. 'There is no such relative whom we have not cheated', a Kanpur resident brought to life the tagline of a famous laddu shop in Kanpur. He showed such alertness that he took Rs 10,000 from the fraudster who was trying to extort money by making a digital arrest.

When the thug came to know that he himself was trapped in the trap of Sajag Kanpuriya, he started pleading for his money back. This is Kanpuriya resident Bhupendra Singh of Barra, who taught a lesson to cyber thugs with the weapon of awareness.

Now Uttar Pradesh Police has also made a short film on this incident, through which people are being made aware about the prevention of cyber crime. Nana Patekar, actors Kishori Soni and Adil Irani also played roles in the film.

Every trick of such cyber thug failed

Bhupendra had received a call from an unknown number on March 6 in the year 2025. The caller, introducing himself as a CBI officer, said that you are watching objectionable material on the internet, an FIR has been registered against you. While showing awareness, Bhupendra first did not reveal his real identity.

When the caller introduced himself as a 12th class student, he demanded Rs 16,000 and said that he would hush up the matter. It was here that he became convinced that this was a cyber fraud and decided to teach him a lesson.

He told the thug that he had no money but had a gold chain which was mortgaged. It will cost three thousand rupees to free him. Out of greed, the cyber thug immediately sent the money to his account.

Similarly, by making different excuses, he took Rs 10,000 from the cyber fraudster. When the cyber fraudster realized that he had been cheated, he started pleading for the money to be returned.

Now making others aware too

According to Bhupendra, he became aware of the tactics of cyber fraud only after reading Dainik Jagran. It was through Dainik Jagran that his story reached the people and now a film is being made on it, which is a matter of pride. After this incident, victims of cyber fraud from across the country contact him and he helps them in every possible way.

Bhupendra said that as many people as possible should watch this film on their own initiative, so that they can know about the tricks of cyber thugs.

Director Raja Shandilya's short film shows that no government investigating agency makes digital arrests nor are warrants sent over video call. Your own newspaper Dainik Jagran also keeps making people aware from time to time through news of such incidents.
