Suspense created on matches in Bengaluru and Jaipur

Abhishek Tripathi, Jagran New Delhi: It has not been decided yet whether the Indian Premier League (IPL) matches to be held from March 26 to May 31 this year will be held in Bengaluru's Chinnaswamy Stadium and Jaipur's Sawai Man Singh Stadium or not. In the IPL Governing Council meeting held on Tuesday, BCCI officials have given a deadline of January 27 to Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Rajasthan Royals will have to hold talks with Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA), the state government there and RCB will have to negotiate with Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) and the state government there till January 27 to decide whether their home matches will be able to be held there or not.

need to be together

BCCI said that for matches to be held in Jaipur and Bengaluru, all the organizations will have to be on the same page. Due to infighting within the Rajasthan Cricket Association, Rajasthan Royals have so far not been able to satisfy the BCCI regarding holding the match in Jaipur. Whereas defending champion RCB seems willing to hold five of its matches at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai and two matches at Raipur. It is known that RCB had sent a proposal to KSCA regarding organizing matches at Chinnaswamy Stadium in which the franchise had offered to install 300 to 350 AI based cameras to strengthen crowd control in the stadium.

Last year, during the victory ceremony after becoming the IPL winner, there was a stampede outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium, in which 11 people died. After this accident, all types of cricket activities were banned in the stadium. In the investigation report, serious shortcomings in crowd management were cited as the main reason for the accident and RCB was also held responsible for this.

RCB afraid of Karnataka government's law

RCB may be trying to show that it wants to hold the match at Chinnaswamy Stadium but it is not so. The BCCI source said that the Karnataka government has passed a law after the incident that happened there. In this, where any such match or program is taking place, if any incident happens on the outer roads around it, then the organizer will be responsible for it. This is the reason why RCB owners are scared about this. Not only this, RCB's music system is installed where the place has been earmarked for parking the fire brigade vehicles, their DJ stays there.

NOC will have to be taken from Mumbai Indians

RCB wants to hold its five matches at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai but for this it will have to take NOC from Mumbai Indians because according to the rules of IPL, whenever you want to hold your home matches in the city of another franchise, then you have to take NOC from that franchise because it affects the ticket revenue of that team. In the meeting, RCB official said that we have talked to Mumbai Indians. However, the BCCI official said that we cannot do anything until Mumbai Indians gives us a written notice.

IPL program stopped due to election date not coming

There are elections in Bengal and Tamil Nadu and Assam in March-April this year. The Election Commission has not yet announced the date. The complete schedule of IPL will be announced after the Election Commission announces the date.
