Reuters, Tel Aviv. In an unusual development, Israel has expressed strong objection to the US policy regarding Gaza. Due to this, differences seem to be emerging between the two countries. This dispute has emerged regarding the composition of the US-backed executive board formed for Gaza.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said Saturday that the Trump administration's announcement this week was made without coordination with Israel and is contrary to its government policy.

The statement said that Foreign Minister Gideon Saar will raise the issue with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Although the Israeli side did not clarify which part of the board's structure conflicts with its policy, it is believed that Turkey's involvement is the main reason.

The committee announced by the White House includes Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, while Israel has long opposed any Turkish role in Gaza.

The board also includes former UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Sigrid Kog, an Israeli-Cypriot industrialist and a UAE minister. This committee will monitor the temporary rule in Gaza and carry forward the second phase of the war end plan proposed by Trump.

This week Washington announced that the US draft ceasefire plan for Gaza is now entering a tougher second phase, under which an interim technical Palestinian administration is to be formed. The so-called 'Board of Peace' will be chaired by Trump himself, which also includes Rubio, businessman Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

Israel's public criticism of its close ally America is being considered unusual, due to which differences seem to be emerging between the two countries regarding Gaza.
