It Will Be Easy To Go From Dayalbagh To Poiya-Hathras Road, Pontoon Bridge Will Be Built At A Cost Of One Crore.

Sansu, Jagran-Khandauli (Agra). The proposed pontoon bridge construction between Poiya Ghat to Dayalbagh on river Yamuna has finally gained momentum on the ground. On Monday, the first consignment of pontoons for the construction of the bridge reached Poiya Ghat.

Preparations to start construction work have intensified. The departmental officials have assured to start the work as soon as the necessary materials are collected. Regional MLA Dharampal Singh reached the spot and inspected the casks.

He instructed the officials that the construction of the bridge should be done as per the stipulated time frame and standards, so that the regional people can get quick transportation facilities.

The MLA said that this pontoon bridge, to be built at a cost of about Rs 1 crore, will prove to be an important alternative route from the city to Hathras and Aligarh via Khandauli.

At present, people have to cover an additional distance of about 15 kilometers from Rambagh via Terhi Bagiya, whereas after the construction of the bridge, the distance to Khandauli via Poiya Ghat-Dayalbagh road will reduce to about three kilometers.

Once the bridge is ready, two-wheelers, pedestrians and light small vehicles will get direct benefits. People of nearby villages including Pantkheda, Poiya, Bagalghunsa, Khandauli, Avidgarh, Ujrai will find it convenient to reach Bhagwan Talkies.

After complete supply of casks, they will be installed in Yamuna river and interconnected. After this, decking and approach road will be constructed. The target has been set to make the bridge operational within the stipulated time if the weather is favourable.
