JEE Advanced Exam 2026: JEE Advanced Exam Date Announced, Registration Will Start From April 23

Jagran correspondent, Patna. IIT Roorkee released the schedule for JEE Advanced on Tuesday. The examination will be conducted on 17 May 2026. The result will be released on June 1st. The registration process for admission to IITs and NITs along with other engineering institutes will start from June 2. Candidates can get detailed information by visiting the website jeeadv.ac.in.

Candidates who have qualified JEE Mains 2026 can register for JEE Advanced 2026 from 10 am on April 23 to 11:59 pm on May 2. Fee payment can be made till 11:59 pm on May 4. Admit card will be released on 11th May.

JEE Advanced 2026 to be held on 17 May 2026

PWD candidates with less than 40 per cent disability and those with writing difficulties can choose scribe till May 16. JEE Advanced 2026 will be conducted on May 17, 2026 (9 am to 12 am, 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm). The response sheet of the candidates will be available on the website on May 21.

The provisional answer key will be released on 25th May. Objections on the provisional answer key can be lodged from 25 to 26 May 2026 (till 5 pm). The final answer key and result of JEE Advanced 2026 will be released on June 1, 2026. JoSAA will start the registration process for counseling for admission in IITs, NITs and Triple IT from June 2.

Different fees for each category

General category candidates will have to deposit application fee of Rs 3200. Women and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PWD) category will have to pay Rs 1600 for JEE Advanced 2026 registration.

Only those candidates who are among the top 2.50 lakh qualified candidates (all categories) in JEE Mains 2026 will be allowed to register for JEE Advanced 2026.

The category-wise percentage of candidates to be selected for JEE Advanced Registration 2026 is 10 per cent for General-Economically Weaker Section (EWS), 27 per cent for Other Backward Class-Non-Creamy Layer (NCL), 15 per cent for Scheduled Caste (SC), 7.5 per cent for Scheduled Tribe (ST) and the remaining 40.5 per cent for open category candidates.

According to the official notification, in each of these five categories, five percent horizontal reservation is available for physically challenged candidates. Moreover, to be eligible for JEE Advanced 2026, candidates must have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in the 12th exam for the first time in 2025 or 2026.
