In Jharkhand, 4111 people died in road accidents in 11 months.
State Bureau, Ranchi. Road accidents are also increasing in the state and due to this the number of deaths is also increasing. Jharkhand Police figures are also revealing this. According to the figures, a total of 5193 incidents related to road accidents have been registered from January to November in the year 2025.
4111 people lost their lives in these accidents. This figure is of 11 months (334 days). Thus, on an average, every day 12 people are losing their lives in road accidents. This is much higher than the year 2024.
A total of 4699 incidents related to road accidents were registered from January to November in the year 2024. In the year 2024, 3708 people had lost their lives in these incidents recorded in 11 months. A total of 667 accidents occurred from January to November in 2024 in Ranchi district alone.
This number reached 746 in the same period in the year 2025. If we take only the figures of the month of November, there were a total of 54 accidents in November 2024, in which 38 people lost their lives. There were 80 accidents in November 2025, in which 51 people lost their lives.
The condition of Khunti district adjacent to Ranchi is worse. The police have records of a total of 10 accidents in Khunti in November 2024, in which nine people lost their lives. At the same time, in the month of November in the year 2025, a total of 23 road accidents took place in Khunti, in which 28 people lost their lives.
Alcohol and speeding are the most important reasons
Recently, during the video conferencing meeting at the police headquarters, the causes of road accidents have come to light like drunken driving, driving at high speed, driving without helmet and seat belt.
Jharkhand Police is serious about the increase in road accidents and deaths due to it every year. Now the police will increase strictness so that accidents can be prevented. Police will also work with breath analyzers on the highways so that strict action can be taken against those who drink and drive.
Police will descend with speed radar guns to arrest speeders. The campaign will intensify. Jharkhand Police plans to increase the punishment and create awareness among the people.
