Jharkhand municipal elections 2026
State Bureau, Ranchi. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has heated up the election atmosphere by making a big political statement regarding the upcoming municipal elections. Party's Central General Secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya has said in clear words that this time only JMM will be in control of the city government and the party has entered the election field on the trust of the public.
Supriyo Bhattacharya said that JMM's real alliance is not with any political party, but with the people. We make an alliance with the public and never break it. This is the reason that when we have a government in the state, we will have leadership in both cities and villages. He also made it clear that the equation of Lok Sabha and Assembly elections is different, whereas municipal elections are related to local issues and needs of the people.
In such a situation, JMM wants to give a new direction to urban development by taking local leadership forward. JMM has decided to field its supported candidates for the post of Mayor in all major municipal bodies of the state including Ranchi. The party believes that the direct benefits of the development work done by the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren will be visible in the urban areas also and the public will repose faith in it.
