Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student organization All India Students Association (AISA) and CPIM demonstrated at Jantar Mantar on Sunday in protest against the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro by the US. Students gathered with posters in their hands and raised slogans against America's policies.
During the demonstration, the students strongly criticized US President Donald Trump and the American government. The students alleged that a conspiracy was being hatched to destabilize the democratic government of Venezuela. He expressed strong protest, calling it a blatant interference in the internal affairs of an independent and sovereign country. Through posters, students accused America of adopting imperialist thinking. It was written on the posters – The agenda of resource control behind the attack on Venezuela, Shame on the American imperialist forces, Down with America, the enemy of global peace and Long live our solidarity against American imperialism.
The protesters said that America is continuously endangering global peace by doing political interference in various countries. Student leaders demanded that the international community should take an impartial stand in this matter and the US should respect the sovereignty of other countries. The students said that if such interference continues, the agitation will be further intensified.
