JPSC: After Nine Years Of Advertisement, Player Mohini Ritika Became Deputy Collector, Got Justice After A Long Hearing.

Karate player Mohini Ritika Toppo has become Deputy Collector of JPSC, nine years after the release of the advertisement for Civil Services Combined Competitive Examination-2016. He has been selected on the post of State Administrative Service. Jharkhand Public Service Commission released their result on Friday in the light of the order issued by the Jharkhand High Court on July 28, 2025.

Whereas this competitive examination was completed in the year 2020 itself. Even after being declared successful in the preliminary examination and main examination, he could not be selected because he did not get the benefit of two percent horizontal reservation given to the players.

Mohini had challenged not being given the benefit of reservation in the Jharkhand High Court. After a long hearing, the court passed its order this year and gave them the benefit of horizontal reservation and ordered the release of results and appointment to JPSC and the Personnel Department of the State Government respectively.

The order said that the petitioner Mohini Ritika Toppo fulfills the eligibility for the benefit of two percent horizontal reservation as per the Advertisement and Sports Policy. His certificate of being a player has also been found valid. Therefore, cancellation of his candidature is not valid. The petitioner is eligible for appointment under sports quota and his candidature should be considered.

Because six seats of players are vacant. The court had given 12 weeks time to release their results and appoint them. Let us tell you that JPSC had published the advertisement of Civil Services Combined Competitive Examination-2016 in the year 2016 itself. This competitive examination was completed in the year 2020.
