Brajesh Shakla, Unnao. Five bridges will be built on the Kanpur-Lucknow National Highway which has been improved for traffic by overlaying them with Rs 92 crore. All these bridges will be built with a cost of Rs 1.40 billion. All the processes of building the bridge have been completed. Now the tender process has started.
After inviting tender from NHAI Lucknow unit, the related construction will be started at the designated places of NH within the coming one to two months. NHAI PD Nakul Verma said that apart from the service road at Asha Kheda, flyover at Nawabganj, pre-approved bridge at Dahi Tirahe, now another flyover, foot over bridges at Chamrauli and Tribhuwankheda will be built on the NH itself. Budget has been received for the construction of all the bridges.
It will take about two months to construct flyovers at the above mentioned places on the National Highway Kanpur-Lucknow. DPR to build these bridges was sent in April 2025. Whose approval has now been received by NHAI. In the past, the process of soil sample testing etc. has been completed for the construction of Nawabganj, Ashakheda and Dahi Tirahe bridges. After the construction of the said bridge on NH in the area of the district, the ease of traffic on the highway will increase.
Till now NHAI has constructed ROB near Naveen Mandi in the year 2014. At the same time, the bridge at Gadankheda intersection was completed about six months ago. Now in the exercise of new bridges to be built, when going from Kanpur to Lucknow, first a foot bridge will be built at Tribhuwankheda, then a flyover at Dahi Chowki Tiraha, a foot bridge at Chamrauli, a flyover at Nawabganj and a service road at Asha Kheda.
The small bridge built in front of Kendriya Vidyalaya at Dahi Tiraha will be extended to the front of the road leading to the warehouse ahead of Dahi Tiraha. Necessary repairs will also be done to the small bridge. With the construction of these bridges, about six lakh population of about a hundred villages on both sides of the NH will be able to move safely. At the same time, the movement of 28 to 32 thousand vehicles on NH will remain uninterrupted every day.
amount spent on bridges
NHAI is estimating a budget expenditure of Rs 45 crore for the construction of about half a kilometer long joint bridge at Dahi Tiraha. Rs 60 crore will be spent on the 800 meter bridge in Nawabganj, Rs 20 crore will be spent on the service road in Ashakheda, and the remaining Rs 15 crore will be spent on the construction of about 400 meter long footover bridges in Chamrauli and Tribhuwankheda.
Vehicles will go to Purva through underpass
Vehicles going from Dahi Tirahe to Unnao-Purwa Mohanlal Ganj road will be able to move easily through the service roads and underpasses built on both sides of the highway and the traffic towards Lucknow-Kanpur will not be disrupted.
Service road will save pedestrians from NH vehicles
There will be a 300 meter service road on both sides of the road in Asha Kheda. With this, 50 thousand villagers of villages Baba Kheda, Bhainsora, Himmatgarh, Ashakheda, Mishrapur etc. will be able to complete their journey safely without coming to NH.
NH will not cross two lakh population of dozens of villages
Due to the flyover being built in Nawabganj, the two lakh population of Nawabganj town including Kusumbhi, Pachiyav, Etbarpur, Lavanhar, Amretha, Zalim Kheda, Pachhiyanv, Kusumbhi, Makur etc. villages will no longer cross the NH taking direct risk. Apart from this, due to the ban on the movement of villagers from one side to the other, there will be no jam on the NH, the traffic will remain uninterrupted. The villagers will travel through the 25 meter wide underpass of the bridge. NH traffic will continue to pass through the bridge without any restrictions.
Two foot over bridges will make it easier for villagers to travel from one side to the other.
NHAI will build footover bridges in Chamrauli and Tribhuwankheda. Due to which Chamrauli area including villages Jagdishpur, Daulatkheda, Bichpari etc. in Tribhuwankhed including Tribhuwankheda village, Lochan Kheda, Dakari, Lakhapur, Turkia Badarka, Badua Kheda on left and right side, Pipar Kheda, Piparkheda Gair Ehatmali, Kallu Purva, Jhabbu Purva etc. villages on the left side and on the right side are not able to cross the NH.
