Karkardooma Court Orders Release Of Four Accused Of 2020 Riots, Passport Will Have To Be Submitted In The Court

Jagran correspondent, East Delhi. In a case related to the 2020 Delhi riots, the Karkardooma Court on Wednesday issued an important order ordering the release of four accused Shifa ur Rehman, Meeran Haider, Mohammad Salim Khan and Gulfisha Fatima.

The court passed this order after verification of the bail and surety bonds. Additional Sessions Judge Sameer Bajaj issued this order. Let us inform that after getting bail from the Supreme Court, all four accused had filed their respective bail bonds and surety bonds in the Karkardooma court on Tuesday.

The court had directed each accused to furnish a personal bond of Rs 2 lakh and two surety bonds of the same amount. The court ordered his release after the verification process was completed. According to the order, the accused who have passports will have to submit them in the court. The next hearing in the case has been fixed for January 15.

The Supreme Court had recently granted bail to five accused in the alleged major conspiracy case related to Delhi riots. However, the bail pleas of Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam were rejected in the same case.

This case is registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act i.e. UAPA. Earlier, Natasha Narwal, Devangana Kalita, Asif Iqbal Tanha and Ishrat Jahan have also got bail. Former MCD councilor Tahir Hussain is also an accused in the case.
