Knives And Firing Between Two Groups Over Drug Trade In Bhagalpur, One Youth Seriously Injured

Jagran correspondent, Bhagalpur. On Tuesday night, an incident of firing and stabbing took place between two groups over drug trade in Qutubganj of Babarganj police station area.

Sonu Chaurasia has been seriously injured in this incident. He has a deep knife attack wound on his neck. In view of the worrying situation, after initial treatment, the doctor of Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College Hospital referred him to Patna late at night.

According to City DSP-2 Rakesh Kumar, Gulshan of Qutubganj and his friend Himanshu were having a dispute with Sonu. At around 10.30 pm, Sonu had a dispute with Gulshan and Himanshu. During this, Gulshan shot Sonu.

After this he attacked Sonu with a knife. There is a deep knife wound on his neck. Meanwhile the patrol car also reached there. Sonu's people were chasing away Gulshan and Himanshu. The police caught Gulshan, while Himanshu escaped. A blood stained knife has also been recovered from Gulshan. He told that during interrogation, Gulshan told that when he was not shot, they attacked Sonu with a knife.

DSP says that whether Sonu has been shot or not will be known through X-ray. The doctor has referred him to Patna. He told that there was a dispute between the two parties in October also. Sonu has gone to jail two-three times on charges of liquor smuggling.

Gulshan had come to his home from outside today itself and carried out the incident. However, denying that any case has been registered against Gulshan till now, the DSP said that the incident was being investigated regarding drugs.
