Sports Desk, New Delhi. It is not certain that Pakistan will play in the T20 World Cup-2026 to be played next month to be hosted by India and Sri Lanka. After Bangladesh was expelled from this tournament, Pakistan had also said that it can withdraw from this tournament. Meanwhile, a press release was leaked from the Pakistan Cricket Board which has clarified the situation.
According to the report of Hindustan Times, in the press release issued by the PCB, it has been said that the Pakistan team will fly to Sri Lanka on February 2. In the flight in which Pakistan team will be there, Australian team will also be there. The Australian team is currently playing the T20 series in Pakistan, so both the teams will leave for the World Cup together. This ended the suspense over Pakistan's participation in the World Cup.
According to reports, a press release from the PCB was leaked which contained information regarding the team's World Cup travel. However, this release was later reissued with one paragraph removed. Some journalists of Pakistan have posted in this regard on social media.
Due to lack of clear and official confirmation of things till now, the matter of Pakistan playing the World Cup is still hanging in the balance. Pakistan has not officially clarified this, but after the information regarding travel, it seems that Pakistan is ready to play and now it is just pretending.
Naqvi created a ruckus
