In this case, Bhairav ​​Pandit, resident of Kodariya of Patahi police station, father of deceased Vikash Kumar, had registered the case of Patahi police station and accused Shilpi Kumari and her husband Ajay Kumar. Forensic investigation revealed that Vikash was murdered with the knife recovered from Shilpi's house.

The police had recovered the knife used in the murder from the house of accused Shilpi Kumari on her confession statement. Shilpi lived in her maternal home with her husband. After hearing the arguments of both the parties, the sentence was pronounced by the court.
