Jagran correspondent, West Delhi. An incident has come to light in Dwarka's Uttam Nagar area, where a 43-year-old man attacked his live-in partner with a knife and seriously injured her. The police have arrested the accused and in the initial investigation, a money dispute is being said to be the main reason behind the attack.
According to the police, a report of stabbing was received in Uttam Nagar at around 12:20 pm on December 16. By the time the police team reached the spot, the injured woman had been taken to the hospital through a PCR van. According to the medical report, several knife stab marks were found on the woman's neck and scratch marks were also found on her body.
Investigation revealed that this woman, living in Om Vihar of Uttam Nagar, was living here on rent for the last four years. She was in a relationship with the accused person for the last eight to nine years. The accused, who is married and works as a security guard, had frequent fights with the victim over money in recent times.
On the day of the incident i.e. 16th December, there was an argument between the two over money, which soon turned violent. The accused allegedly attacked the woman with a knife and fled from the spot. When the woman raised an alarm, the police was informed, after which the people of the neighborhood immediately took her to the hospital and admitted her.
The police showed promptness and arrested the accused within 24 hours. The officer said that the police is taking further legal action based on the complaint of the victim and the investigation report received.
