Love Jihad: Mahfooz Used To Trap Tribal Girls By Pretending To Be A Hindu, This Is How The Truth Was Exposed

Digital Desk, New Delhi. A case of love jihad has come to light in Surguja district. Here, a Muslim youth has been exposed for luring tribal girls into love trap, exploiting them physically and defrauding them of money by taking the help of Hindu name and identity.

The accused has been identified as Mohammad Mahfooz, a resident of Patna, Bihar, who has been detained by Gandhinagar police station.

Police investigation has revealed that the accused targeted tribal girls of Surguja and surrounding areas by creating a fake ID in the name 'Tarun Paikra' on Facebook. Especially by sending friend requests to girls with the surname ‘Paikra’, he used to call himself a Hindu youth ‘Swaraj Paikra’.

After this, he used to trap the girls by promising them marriage and job. The accused claimed to be an officer posted in Bilaspur Railway, whereas in reality he works in a clothing shop in Patna. After winning their trust through internet media, he used to get closer to the girls and pressurize them to meet him.

In this sequence, he reached Ambikapur and called a tribal girl and asked her to meet him. The accused booked a room in a hotel in Ambikapur and there also submitted a fake identity card in the name 'Swaraj Paikra'. He stayed with the girl in the hotel room for two days.

The girl found the young man's activities suspicious. When she checked the mobile phone of the accused, messages sent to many other Hindu girls from his Facebook account came to light. After this, when the accused went out of the hotel, the girl checked his bag, in which her original Aadhaar card was found. The girl was stunned to see the name Mohammad Mahfooz in the Aadhar card.

When the truth came out, the girl called her friends and informed the police. Gandhinagar police station reached the spot and detained the accused and interrogated him. On the complaint of the girl, a crime has been registered against the accused and he has been arrested.

Three girls were made victims and also cheated of money

Police investigation has also revealed that the accused had trapped at least three girls from Surguja area. These include two tribal girls from Ambikapur and one from Kansabel area. The accused also cheated a girl, who works in a micro finance company, of Rs 54 thousand.

The girl told the police that on January 17, the accused had also kept another girl in the same hotel. The accused would contact the girls through internet media at night, pretend to be a Hindu and a railway officer and then trap them with the promise of marriage. The accused could not establish physical relations with the girl who exposed him.

Police have seized the mobile phone of the accused, in which many fake conversations, photos and evidence of contact with other girls have been found. After the matter came to light, people from Hindu organizations also reached the police station and demanded strict action against the accused. Ambikapur City Superintendent of Police Rahul Bansal said that the accused has tried to exploit the girls financially and physically by hiding their names and identities. Investigation of mobile phones has confirmed that many girls were duped by hiding their identities.
