Magh Mela 2026 Prayagraj: There will be a provision of double decker boat for the Sangam tour for the devotees and tourists coming to Magh Mela.
Jagran correspondent, Prayagraj. Magh Mela 2026 Double decker boats will also be operated in Magh Mela for tourists and devotees. These boats will operate for 10 hours daily. They will operate only from 8 am to 6 pm. These double decker boats will run till the Sangam only from the pucca ghats. For the convenience of the devotees, cart service will also be provided by the Prayagraj Fair Authority.
The proposal was approved in the fair authority meeting.
Magh Mela 2026 This proposal was approved in the 21st meeting of the Prayagraj Fair Authority Board. Four double decker boats can be operated on the basis of public private partnership. Along with tea and snacks, melodious music will also be played. Their fare will be higher than normal boats. These boats will be operated from Balua Ghat, Gaughat, Boat Club, Arail Ghat, VIP Ghat located at the fort.
These arrangements will be in place in Magh Mela
- The fair will start from Posh Purnima on 3 January 2026 till Mahashivratri on 15 February.
- Magh Mela is being organized for the first time on an area of about 800 hectares in 7 sectors.
- 1.30 lakh vehicles can be parked in the 42 parking spaces being built on the border of the fair.
- 25 thousand toilets, eight thousand dustbins, 10 lakh liner bags, three thousand cleaning workers
Hop-on, hop-off buses will also run for Prayag Darshan.
Magh Mela 2026: Along with this, hop-on, hop-off buses will run for Prayag Darshan. These buses will take tourists and devotees to the scenic spots and tourist places of Prayagraj. It will be operated by the Tourism Department. There will be arrangements for carts at the parking lots of the fair itself, through which tourists and devotees will be able to visit the Sangam along with the ghats.
A total of 100 carts will be arranged
Tourists will also be able to reach the boats by cart. A total of 100 carts are being arranged. For operating the cart, a station is being built at the corner of Kali Marg and Qila Marg in the parade ground, from where devotees will be able to go till the Sangam by taking tickets. Similarly, cart stations are also being established in Arail and Jhunsi areas, from where these can be operated. Carts will also operate from Bakshi Dam to Phaphamau bridge on the Ganga path, which will run till Nagavasuki. When the crowd reduces, they can be operated till Dashashwamedh Ghat. There will be a ban on the conduct of major bathing festivals.
Crowd monitoring in the fair with AI cameras
Deputy Fair Officer Vivek Shukla said that 17 police stations and 42 police posts have been set up in the entire fair area. Besides, 20 fire stations, seven fire posts, 20 fire watch towers, one water police station, one water police control room and four water police sub control rooms are being established. Eight kilometer deep water barricading is being installed.
Crowd monitoring will be done through CCTV
In addition to the CCTV cameras already installed in the city and fair area, arrangements will be made for crowd monitoring, crowd density analysis, incident reporting, cleanliness and security monitoring through AI enabled cameras. Inter-district and inter-state action plans have been developed for traffic and crowd management.
Arrangements for quick treatment of devotees
For quick treatment of devotees, two hospitals with 20 beds, 12 first aid centres, one vector control unit, five Ayurvedic and five homeopathic hospitals are being established in the fair area. Also 50 ambulances will be operated.
