This order has been implemented for crowd management, which will become effective from January 1. Magh Mela will start from January 3. This time around 15 crore devotees are expected to come to the fair. In such a situation, for the safety of passengers and crowd management, restrictions have been imposed on vehicle parking, adopting the successful model of Mahakumbh-2025.
Parking will remain closed for the convenience of passengers
Magh Mela 2026 North Central Railway Prayagraj Division's PRO Amit Kumar Singh said that keeping in mind the convenience and safety of passengers, the parking system at Prayagraj Junction, Subedarganj and Chhivki stations will be limited or closed. City side parking stand of Prayagraj Junction will remain completely closed till 17th February. Whereas the bike, car and e-rickshaw stands on the Civil Lines side will remain closed during major bathing festivals - January 2 to 5, January 13 to 26, January 31 to February 3 and February 14 to 17.
Subedarganj, Chhivki station parking will remain closed
Magh Mela 2026 Rajrooppur side parking of Subedarganj station will also remain closed till February 17, while the Sulemsarai side stand will be closed on key dates during the same period. Similarly, both the parking stands of Prayagraj Chhivki station will remain closed from January 1 to February 17. The sudden closure will cause initial inconvenience to passengers, but Railways says that this step is necessary to prevent accidents and ensure smooth movement.
There will be 42 alternative parking spaces in Magh Mela.
The fair administration has developed more than 42 alternative parking spots in the city from where shuttle buses and e-rickshaws will ply to the Sangam area. Railways has appealed that devotees should use public transport or special trains instead of private vehicles. There will be more crowd on major bathing festivals - Makar Sankranti (15 January), Mauni Amavasya (18 January), Vasant Panchami (23 January) etc., so plan accordingly. The Magh Mela will end on Mahashivratri on February 15 and the ban on parking will continue for two days after that.
