Jagran correspondent, Ghaziabad. The three-day Falgun Mahashivratri festival started from Friday at Siddhapeeth Shri Dudheshwarnath Math Mahadev Temple. On the day of Mahashivratri, on 15th February, lakhs of Shiva devotees will reach the temple for Jalabhishek.
Jalabhishek of Mahashivratri will start in the temple from 12 midnight on Saturday. For this, special arrangements have been made by the temple management committee and administration. And the temple has been decorated in an attractive manner for the festival.
Temple's Peethadhishwar Narayan Giri Maharaj told that Mahashivratri has special significance in Hindu religion. On this day, Lord Shiva appeared in the form of Linga and on this date the sacred union of Shiva and Shakti, i.e. the marriage of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati took place. This festival is not called ‘Shivratri’ but Mahashivratri.
Shiva-Parvati marriage will take place in temples
In connection with the festival, the marriage ceremony of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati will be held in the temple on the night of 14th February. Before the marriage, a grand procession of Lord Shiva will start from Jasipura turn, in which unique tableaux of ghosts, Shiva devotees as well as Gods and Goddesses will be seen.

There will be a bhajan evening after the Shiva Parvati marriage. Arrangements for Prasad will be made for the devotees in the temple by the Charitable Service Committee. In view of the arrival of a large number of devotees on the occasion of Mahashivratri festival, arrangements have been made with the help of various departments including the district administration, police administration, municipal corporation and electricity department.

After the officials inspected the temple and met Shri Mahant Narayan Giri Maharaj, all the preparations have been completed as per his suggestions.
Will be decorated with 501 kg fruits and flowers
Temple worker Pintu Suthar told that on 14th February, before Shivratri, special decoration of Lord Shri Dudheshwarnath will be done. Shri Dudheshwar Shringar Seva Samiti President Vijay Mittal and his team will do a wonderful decoration of the Lord in the form of Mahakaal with 56 offerings and about 501 kg of fruits and flowers at 5:30 pm. There will be support from Mukesh, Prateek, Rajesh, Yash, Nakul, Daksh, Kushank and others in the service.
Jalabhishek will start from 12 midnight
Jalabhishek of Mahashivratri will start from 12 midnight on 14th February. First of all, Jalabhishek and puja will be performed by the temple's Peethadhishwar Narayan Giri Maharaj and Shri Dudheshwar Temple Development Committee Chairman Anuj Garg.
After this the doors of the temple will be opened for the devotees. On the festival of Mahashivratri, all eight Prahar Rudrabhishek and ritual worship will be performed in the temple. This puja will be conducted by the Acharyas of Dudheshwar Veda Vidyalaya.

In the puja, Lord Dudheshwarnath will be worshiped by Ved Vidyalaya Principal Toyraj Upadhyay, Senior Teacher Nityanand Acharya, Acharya Rohit Tripathi, Acharya Kishan Sharma, Acharya Ajay Dadhich and Acharya Deepak with Vedic chanting and scripture based rituals.
