Political turmoil in Mango elections: Saryu's befitting reply to Banna's attack.
Jagran correspondent, Jamshedpur. In the arena of Mango Municipal Corporation elections, the issues of development have now gone to ICU, they have been replaced by a pinch of vermilion and personal character assassination.
Jamshedpur West MLA Saryu Rai on Thursday responded selectively to the objectionable allegations of former minister Banna Gupta, which had created a stir in the city's politics.
Rai bluntly said that it is meaningless to expect decorum from a person who looks at every woman only from the point of view of her body. Saryu Rai's attitude was seen as Rudra in the political riot on Thursday.
He described Banna Gupta as ignorant and said that raising a finger on the character of a woman is an unforgivable crime. Rai clarified that Madhu and her entire educated family (mother, son and daughter) live with him.

Saryu Rai showed the mirror to Banna Gupta and reminded him of his obscene video, which was released a few days before the assembly elections.
Rai made a scathing attack and said, Banna Gupta should accept the woman in that video as his wife, because the truth is in front of everyone. One whose own hem is full of stains is questioning the vermilion and worship of others.
Rai taunted that Banna Gupta is trying to loot the Municipal Corporation's money by posing as the mayor's husband and in this frenzy he has lost his mental balance.
Actually, the script of this controversy was written by Banna Gupta on Wednesday. During a press conference, Banna had launched "Operation Sindoor", a direct attack on Saryu Rai's personal life.
Banna had publicly asked why Saryu Rai did not break his silence out of respect for the woman with whom he sat as husband and wife in Ramarcha Puja for years?
Banna had sarcastically said that if the relationship is so deep, then why doesn't Saryu Rai fill the woman's maang with vermilion and give her the status of wife in the society?
Banna had accused Rai of living a double character and challenged him to publicly accept the relationship.
Now Mango's election battle has completely become a victim of personal ego and character assassination. On one hand, Banna Gupta made vermillion a weapon, while on the other hand, Saryu Rai countered through morality and old videos.
Now the mud has become so deep in Mango politics that the public is talking less about development and more about controversies. Now it remains to be seen who will be defeated by this personal attack in this battle of mango queens.
