State Bureau, Patna. Taking strict action in a major case related to international human trafficking and cyber fraud, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has seized two illegally acquired immovable properties of the accused. This action has been taken against wanted accused Anand Kumar Singh, who was currently living in Cambodia and was operating this organized crime.

According to the official statement issued by the NIA, accused Anand Kumar Singh had purchased a flat in Thane, Maharashtra and a plot of land in Siwan district of Bihar in the name of his wife using illegal earnings.

Investigation revealed that both these properties were purchased with money earned from crime. On this basis, NIA has seized them under the legal process.

The agency's investigation has also revealed that Anand Kumar Singh was involved in taking Indian youth to foreign countries, especially Cambodia, with the promise of good paying legitimate jobs.

After reaching there, these youth were forcibly engaged in illegal activities like cyber fraud. In many cases, passports of youth were confiscated and they also had to face physical and mental torture.

The Patna-based special NIA court had passed an important order in this case on December 10, allowing confiscation of both the properties considering them as 'proceeds of crime'.

The court has also directed that the money received from the auction of these properties should be confiscated and deposited in the government treasury.

According to the investigating agency, the accused was part of an organized gang that targeted the economically weaker and unemployed youth of India.

Youth were lured by giving attractive job advertisements through social media and other mediums. NIA says that investigation is continuing to identify and arrest other people associated with this network.

This action of NIA is being seen as a major success against international human trafficking and cyber crime.
