Jagran correspondent, Mandi. For the first time, two to three gods and goddesses will sit in each pagoda-style tent set up for the International Shivratri Festival. The place will be decided according to the size of the chariot of the deity. The work of erecting tents on the stairs in Paddal ground is going on. 216 gods and goddesses have been invited to the Shivratri festival, out of which 190 to 195 gods and goddesses are expected to arrive here. Mandi Shivratri Mahotsav is being organized from 16 to 22 February.

Pagoda style tents will be set up

After the construction of the college building, around 60 deities were not getting a proper place to sit. In such a situation, in the general meeting this time, Sarva Devta Seva Samiti had demanded to install pagoda style tents. Accordingly, 85 tents are being set up on the steps of Paddal Ground. In this, on one side there will be gods and goddesses of Chauhar valley and on the other side of Saraj valley and gods of other valleys will be included.

When the jaleb enters the paddal, the six gods and goddesses accompanying it will stop first and 12 gods and goddesses will move ahead with the jaleb. After making the royal deity Madhorai sit in the Paddal Chanani, six deities will sit with him and after that the Jaleb will also come back.

How many gods from which region?

In Shivratri festival, maximum of 62 deities come from Sadar area, 31 from Balichowki, 21 from Kataula, 26 from Aut, 2 from Kotli, 18 from Paddhar, 25 from Gohar, 11 from Thunag, 20 from Balh. The Jaleb of Raj Devta Madhorai will enter the paddal from the bus stand side.

Aani's deity will also reach Khuddijahal

Khuddijahal of Ani, who is said to be the richest deity of district Kullu, will come this time also to participate in the International Shivratri Festival. The deity will leave from Raghupur area in Ani on 12th February and will participate in Mandi International Shivratri on 15th February via Chhatri, Gohar, Bhadayal. The deity is coming to the market for the second time.
