The marriage of Dhananjay Chaudhary, elder son of Dinesh Chaudhary, resident of Sarhuwa village under Ramgarh police station area of Palamu district, was fixed in Hasandag village located in Meral police station area of Garhwa district. The Tilak ceremony was completed on 20 February, while the procession reached Hasandag on 24 February. All the rituals from door puja to marriage were completed peacefully.
It is said that at the time of farewell, the bride's side objected to the groom saying he was disabled and announced the end of the marriage. This decision created a situation of tension between both the parties. The groom's side alleges that the wedding procession was kept in the village from around 5 am to 5 pm when they demanded the return of the cash and goods given in Tilak.
On receiving information about the matter, a Panchayat was called, in which local public representatives were also present. After a long discussion between the two parties, it was decided that the cash and goods given as Tilak would be returned, while both the parties themselves would bear the expenses incurred in the wedding ceremony. The wedding processions were allowed to return from the village only after the goods were returned.
After returning home, the groom's father Dinesh Chaudhary told that due to sitting for a long time during the wedding, his son's legs had become loose, due to which there was some delay in getting up. According to him, the relationship was broken on this basis, citing that the groom was disabled.
Relatives say that after the marriage was fixed, Dhananjay had gone to his in-laws' house several times and no objection was raised at that time. The family is hurt after the incident and there is an atmosphere of discussion in the area regarding the matter.
