The Sangharsh Committee will not remain silent until a proper solution to the offering of Mata Vaishno Devi is found.

Digital Desk, Jammu. The ongoing movement against the neglect of Hindus and allotment of 45 out of 50 seats to the Muslim community in Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence, which is run by the offerings of Hindu devotees, has now taken a violent form.

Hundreds of people, led by the committee members, surrounded Lok Bhawan today and raised slogans against the Lieutenant Governor's administration.

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Sangharsh Samiti, which is an organization of about seven organizations, reached the main gate of Lok Bhawan near the radio station with its supporters.

The committee members were calling on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to withdraw his decision. People reached Radio Station Chowk in protest. Angry people tried to enter Lok Bhawan but the security forces deployed there stopped the protesters from moving forward with the help of floods.

This demonstration has been going on for about one and a half hours and the road is closed. The protesting people warned that their agitation would continue until the Shrine Board withdrew its decision and reviewed the statutory provisions of the Board.

The committee members also expressed their anger over the fact that despite this movement going on for more than a month, not only the Chairman of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, but any other member of the board did not talk to them.

Union Health Minister BJP President JP Nadda has assured them of a proper solution soon but the Sangharsh Samiti will not remain silent until a proper solution is found for the offering of Mata Vaishno Devi.

The committee made it clear that their protest is not against any individual or community but their demand is that the institutions run by the offerings of Hindu devotees should maintain their original objectives and character. Whatever the government has done is not as per the expectations of the devotees.

There is an urgent need to review the statutory provisions of the Shrine Board so that it remains true to its original objective. Convenor of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Sangharsh Samiti, Colonel Sukhbir Singh Mankotia said that Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board was formed to protect Sanatan Dharma. Its chairman and members are nominated so that they can talk about Sanatan Dharma. There should be religious and spiritual functions but the Lieutenant Governor has made it a business centre.

The people present in the protest said that appointments are being made in the Shrine Board from outside states. The Lieutenant Governor is busy doing whatever he wants and there is no discussion about the interests of Sanatan Dharma. The movement will continue until their demands are met. Whatever decision the government has to take, it should be taken soon.
