Municipal Commissioner Launched Campaign Against Illegal Auto Operation In Muzaffarpur, Recovered Three Lakh Fine

Jagran correspondent, Muzaffarpur. On Monday, the second day after the deadline, the administration launched a campaign against those who did not operate autos and e-rickshaws on the prescribed routes.

Municipal Commissioner Rituraj Pratap Singh, SDO East and DTO Kumar Satyendra Yadav were involved in this. A fine of Rs 3 lakh 5 thousand was collected from those operating autos and e-rickshaws illegally.

It may be noted that on February 5, a meeting of officials was held under the chairmanship of the Municipal Commissioner in the corporation office to streamline the traffic system of the city. In this, the drivers were given a deadline till Saturday to ensure the operation of autos and e-rickshaws on the prescribed routes.

Autos and e-rickshaws did not operate as per rules on Sunday. The news was published prominently in Dainik Jagran. Taking cognizance of this, the Municipal Commissioner started the investigation campaign from Station Road from 2 pm.

Traveled on foot to Malgodam Chowk, Imlichatti, Juran Chhapra and Maheshbabu Chowk and checked autos and e-rickshaws. Fines were collected from drivers for not driving the vehicle on the prescribed route, illegal parking, operating the vehicle without valid documents, overloading, operating the vehicle in the wrong direction, providing passengers beyond the prescribed stand.

Before this, the Municipal Commissioner held a meeting with the Sub-Divisional Officer in the Corporation Office. The campaign started at 2 pm. During this period, most of the auto drivers who were illegally ferrying passengers by putting up reservation boards were caught. Fine was collected from him.

Seeing the campaign going on, the drivers started running away with autos and e-rickshaws. In no time the vehicles operating illegally disappeared from Station Road. The Municipal Commissioner said that a team has been formed for the further campaign which will conduct regular checks and take action against the drivers who behave arbitrarily.

From time to time he will join the campaign. During this, Municipal Commissioner Amit Kumar, Municipal Manager Ritesh Kumar, MVI Arvind Kumar, ADTO Kumar Vivek, cleaning in-charge Ajay Kumar and assistant in-charge of encroachment campaign Manoj Kumar were present.
