Samvad Sahayak, Jagran, Nauti-Karnprayag (Chamoli): Preparations for Nanda Devi Rajjat, Asia's longest religious walking pilgrimage starting from mid-August next year, are progressing rapidly. In the initial stages of the Yatra, people are busy repairing and painting old buildings.

There is an atmosphere of enthusiasm in the area regarding participation in Manauti and Dinpatta Mahotsav on the day of Vasant Panchami on 23rd January. The four-day Dinpatta Mahotsav will begin from January 20 and Rajjat's Dinpatta (calendar) will be brought out till January 23.

Preparations for the Manauti-Dinpatta Mahotsav were finalized in the meeting of the Padav Committee held on Saturday at the Nanda Devi temple complex located in Nauti village of Chamoli district. It was decided that during this time a program of Goddess worship and bhajan-kirtan would be organized in Nanda Devi temple.

On January 22, Kunwar and Raj Chhantauli, the royal family of Kansuva, will be welcomed with traditional musical instruments in the village limits. Also, a procession will be taken out with Raj Chhantauli, which will pass through an area of ​​two km.

During this time, Mahila Mangal Dal will participate in the Devi Jagran to be held in the temple premises. On the occasion of Vasant Panchami, after Manauti and Dinpatta puja, the yatra calendar will be released by the princes.

On the same day, at 2 pm, after handing over Raj Chhantauli to Goddess Nanda's brother-in-law Latu Devta at Shaileshwar Mahadev Temple, the princes will depart from Kansuva village.

All parties related to the Nanda Devi royal family, twelve Thoki Brahmins, fourteen Sayanes, Pandits of Kurud, royal representatives of Garhwal-Kumaon, Dev Doli representatives from more than 500 places have been invited to participate in the Dinapatta Mahotsav.

This is the second major ritual after the first ritual of Nanda Devi Rajjat, Ufrai Devi Maudvi Mahotsav. After this the main Nanda Devi Rajjat ​​will be organised.

Nanda Devi Rajjat ​​Committee President Rajendra Singh Rawat, General Secretary Bhuvan Nautiyal, village head Rakhi Chauhan, Shubham, Harshvardhan Nautiyal, Vinod Chauhan, Subhash Rawat, Manwar Singh, Pawan Rawat, Ganesh Nautiyal, Subhash Nautiyal, Madan Maithani, Kamla Rawat etc. were present in the meeting held under the chairmanship of Kailash Chandra Nautiyal of the committee.

Rajjat ​​passes through 19 stages

The 280 km long Nanda Devi Rajjat ​​passes through 19 stops from Nauti village in Chamoli district to Homkund. It also includes five deserted encampments. The highest point of the journey falls at an altitude of 17,500 feet in the high Himalayan region.
