Jagran correspondent, Gorakhpur. The new railway timetable will be implemented by the Railways from January 1, 2026. There will be revision in the arrival and departure timings of many passenger trains operating in Varanasi Division (BSB) and Izzatnagar Division (IZN) including Gorakhpur Junction of North Eastern Railway. A new timetable will be released soon by the railway administration.
There is a possibility of change in the passing time of about 27 trains passing through Gorakhpur Junction. These include timings of many major trains including Amritsar-Saharsa, Gwalior-Barauni, Gonda-Chhapra, Delhi-Sitamarhi, Anand Vihar-Muzaffarpur, Anand Vihar-Bapudham Motihari, Amritsar-New Jalpaiguri, Udaipur-New Jalpaiguri, Delhi-Kishanganj, Lucknow-Patna, Anand Vihar-Raxaul. There will be a change of five to ten minutes in the timings of most trains, so that the operations can become more smooth.
There are preparations to change the timings of other trains running from Gorakhpur including Gorakhpur-Siwan Passenger, Gorakhpur-Yesvantpur Express, Gorakhpur-Kolkata Express. Timings of many trains on Banaras, Banaras City, Jaunpur, Prayagraj and Lucknow routes in Varanasi division will be revised. In Izzatnagar division, the arrival and departure timings of about 40 trains on Delhi, Kathgodam, Ramnagar, Tanakpur, Lucknow and Bareilly routes will be changed.

According to railway officials, the new timetable will improve punctuality, reduce crowding at busy stations and provide more convenience to passengers. In this regard, Chief Public Relations Officer Pankaj Kumar Singh said that the revised timing will be released on Saturday.
