Jagran correspondent, South Delhi. In the murder case of Tehkhand village resident Vikas Mavi, Govindpuri police is getting information that some old enmity or transaction may be involved in the murder case. That is why the police is investigating this angle closely.
Actually, the family members of the deceased do not agree that Vikas was murdered due to an altercation under the influence of alcohol. The family members have demanded from the police that the reason for the murder should be clarified and the involvement of others in this murder should also be investigated.
According to police sources, on the demand of the victim's family, Govindpuri police station is now interrogating some suspects, so that the main reason behind the murder can be reached. It is being told that the police has received input that Vikas Mavi had settled a financial dispute on behalf of the murder accused party about one and a half years ago.
Vikas had resolved his responsibility by resolving that matter but even after one and a half years the financial dispute was still pending. The police is investigating whether this matter was discussed on the night of the incident or not.
Let us tell you, Vikas Mavi, living in village Tekhand of Delhi, was attending a function in Tughlakabad on the evening of 6th December. In this function, a liquor party was going on in Keshav Bidhuri's office for the relatives who had come from far away places. There were many people at this drinking party.
It is being told that everyone involved in the party had left, only Praveen alias Pammi, Keshav Bidhuri, Rahul Bidhuri, Vishal and Vikas Mavi were left there. Their drinking party ended around 11 o'clock. According to police sources, there was an altercation between Keshav and Vikas under the influence of alcohol over some old issue.
One of the murder accused hit a bottle on Vikas's head, then strangulated him with his foot, resulting in his death. Later, the accused took Vikas's body to Faridabad and threw it in the forest.
Police have arrested three accused in this case while the arrest of Rahul Bidhuri is pending. Police say that Rahul's involvement is limited to damaging the CCTV footage of the incident.
