Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif cut the ribbon of an outlet described as 'Pizza Hut' in the Cantonment area of Sialkot. But after a few hours, the real Pizza Hut Pakistan issued a statement saying that this outlet is completely unauthorized and fake.

What happened at the inauguration ceremony?
This program took place with great pomp in Sialkot Cantonment. Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif cut the ribbon and posed happily in the photo-video. Pizza Hut's familiar red roof logo and branding was visible at the location. Organizers introduced it as a new Pizza Hut outlet. But soon the truth came out.
Online users immediately noticed that this outlet is not in the official list of Pizza Hut Pakistan. After the photo and video went viral, the real company had to give clarification.
Official statement of Pizza Hut Pakistan
Pizza Hut Pakistan soon released an official statement. It was clearly stated that this outlet opened in Sialkot Cantonment is unauthorized and has nothing to do with the company. "Pizza Hut Pakistan informs its customers that an unauthorized outlet has recently opened in Sialkot Cantonment, fraudulently using Pizza Hut's name and branding," the statement read.
The company further said that this outlet will be part of Yum! Brands or not associated with Pizza Hut Pakistan. It does not follow Pizza Hut's international recipes, quality protocols, food safety or operational standards. The company has filed a complaint with the concerned authorities so that misuse of the trademark is stopped and immediate action is taken.
