Under the changed rules, this time those who get four marks out of 400 in the entrance examination will also be eligible for admission in polytechnic. In the examination consisting of 100 questions, it will be mandatory to get at least one question correct which will carry four marks.
Earlier, candidates used to get admission in polytechnic despite appearing in the examination and getting zero. The process of application for admission to the Joint Entrance Examination Council will continue till April 30. Online entrance examination will be held from 15th May to 22nd May.
Application for admission can be made only from the website of Joint Entrance Examination Council, jeecup.admissions.nic.in. There will be entry in trades from Group ‘A’ to ‘L’. The fee has been kept at Rs 300 for general and Rs 200 for Scheduled Caste and Tribe.
Apart from government, aided and private institutions in the state, there will be an entrance exam for the total seats operated by 3P, which are 2.54 lakh. In the entrance examination of 400 marks, one question will be of four marks. It will be mandatory to solve at least one question for admission. However, the admission rules will be changed depending on the number of applications.
With the implementation of new rules to curb arbitrary entry, the operators of private institutions have lost their sleep. Candidates who got zero got admission in private institutions. For admission into a private institute, it was mandatory to appear only in the Polytechnic Entrance Examination. Now the requirement of solving a question will curb arbitrary entry. He will also face the challenge of filling the seat.
Secretary of the Joint Entrance Examination Council, SK Singh, said that this time the rules for admission to polytechnics have been changed to improve the quality of technical education. For admission, the candidate will have to answer at least one question out of 100 correctly.
