According to the information, the live video was broadcast by a Facebook user named Rakshit Sharma. In which he was abusing while driving and making obscene comments at women passing by. After the video went viral on social media, the SSP considered it a serious matter related to women's safety and ordered Kotwali Haldwani police to take action.
As soon as the instructions were received, Kotwali Haldwani police took immediate action and registered an FIR against Facebook profile operator Rakshit Sharma, son of Lalit Sharma, resident of Damuwadhunga under Section 296 BNS 4/26. Giving a clear message, SSP Manjunath TC said that Nainital Police is fully committed to women's safety and respect.
Indecent language, obscene comments or objectionable behavior towards women on social media or in public places will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
