Sanjeev Gupta, New Delhi. On the occasion of Brave Children's Day, President Draupadi Murmu on Friday honored 20 children with 'Prime Minister's National Children's Award'. These children were selected from 18 states and union territories. This year the award was given posthumously to two children, whose awards were received by their parents. All awards were given for courageous acts and notable contributions in the fields of sports, science and arts. Addressing the function organized at Vigyan Bhawan, the President praised the awardee children and said that they are a source of inspiration for the country. Everyone has made extraordinary contributions in various fields.
Played a brilliant inning of 190 runs
Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a shining star in the world of cricket, became the first batsman to score a century in List A cricket by playing a blazing innings of 190 runs in the domestic cricket ODI tournament Vijay Hazare Trophy on Wednesday. Before this, he has made many cricket records in his name. He is the youngest batsman to score a century in IPL. At the age of just 14, he has been honored with the Prime Minister's National Children's Award for creating many new records in cricket. Vaibhav has left the second match in Vijay Hazare Trophy and reached New Delhi to receive this award. He was to play with Bihar team against Manipur today at Ranchi ground.
Provided help to soldiers even in case of drone attacks
10 year old Shavan Singh from Firozpur Punjab displayed extraordinary courage during Operation Sindoor and helped the soldiers even in the event of drone attacks. Shavan said that I had never thought of this even in my dreams, I feel very good after receiving this award. Barabanki's Pooja has received the honor for creating a machine that reduces agricultural pollution for farmers. 11-year-old Kamlesh from Bihar lost his life while saving a child who was drowning in the river. He was given the Bravery Award posthumously, while nine-year-old braveheart Ajay Raj of Uttar Pradesh saved his father's life from a crocodile on the river bank. Jyoti, a 17-year-old athlete from Sirsa, Haryana, has won more than 15 medals.

At the same time, eight-year-old Vyoma Priya from Tamil Nadu was playing in the park with friends. During this time, while trying to save a six-year-old child, Vyoma herself got electrocuted and lost her life. Seven-year-old Pragnika, resident of Surat, became the world champion in the Under-7 girls category in the ‘FIDE World School Chess Championship’ in 2025. She won the gold medal by winning all nine matches during the competition. 14-year-old footballer Anushka from Jharkhand has recently been included in the Under-17 women's football team. 14 year old Yogita from Chhattisgarh, born in an area which was Naxal affected till some time ago, is a national level judo player and has won many national medals.
Set a record by winning three gold medals
Joshna's father, a resident of Odisha, is a labourer. Joshna set a record by winning three gold medals in the 40 kg weight category in the Asian Youth Weightlifting held in Doha, Qatar. 16-year-old Vishwanath, resident of Medchal Malkagiri, Telangana, successfully climbed the Seven Summits in May 2025, becoming the youngest Indian and second youngest mountaineer in the world to do so. Shivani, 17, from Andhra Pradesh, who has won more than eight awards at international and national level in shot put and javelin throw, won the title of Under 20 champion in the competition held in Thailand in 2023. 15-year-old Dhinidhi from Karnataka is the first Indian female swimmer to clock under 57 seconds in the 100m freestyle, setting several national records.
Developed AI based software app
Two friends of 11-year-old Sidan, a resident of Kerala, were electrocuted. Sidan showed wisdom and saved his two friends with the help of wood. 17 year old Arnav Maharshi, resident of Maharashtra, has received the Children's Award in the Science category. He has developed an Artificial Intelligence (AI) based software app, which has also been copyrighted and patented by the Government of India.
Amit Shah gave the guitar
Nine-year-old Hamante from Mizoram is a YouTube star, with more than two crore subscribers on his channel. Home Minister Amit Shah had given him a guitar some time ago while appreciating him, his father is a blacksmith. 16-year-old Suman, living in Nadia district of West Bengal, has been playing tabla since the age of three. Suman Sarkar has received 43 awards so far at the national and international level. Aayishi from Assam designed a pencil making machine from waste paper. 17 year old Vansh from Chandigarh has been awarded for his contribution in the field of social service. Vansh has earlier also received a citation for participating in the program ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’.
