Jasan, Jamshedpur. Mayank Mishra took his team Uttarakhand to the semi-finals of Ranji Trophy by defeating the team which once rejected him in its own home. This is the story of that cricketer, who once taught cricket to children in the school of Millenium of the year Amitabh Bachhan and Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw and today himself has become a hero of Indian domestic cricket.

Was a cricket coach at Sherwood College

Nearly a decade ago, 35-year-old Mayank Mishra was a cricket coach at the prestigious Sherwood College in Nainital. He had a dream of becoming a professional cricketer, but his home state Uttarakhand did not have the status of Ranji team at that time.

To live this dream, he came to Jharkhand in 2014 and made Jamtara his home. Despite excellent performance at the district level for three years, he did not get a chance in the Ranji team. Ultimately, he returned disappointed and considered coaching as his future.

When I left my stable job

But fate had something else in store. In 2018, when the news of Uttarakhand getting recognition from BCCI came, Mayank took a big and bold decision. He left his steady job and took a risk to give his dream one last chance. With the support of his family, he devoted himself completely to cricket.

This gamble worked. Mayank not only made it to the Uttarakhand team but also soon became the main weapon of their bowling. Over the last few years, he played county cricket in England to hone his bowling, learn to vary his pace and work hard on his fitness.

Highest wicket taker in Ranji season

He lost about seven kilos, which enabled him to bowl longer spells. Today he is the highest wicket taker in this Ranji season.

After the spectacular win against Jharkhand, he admitted that there is a different energy in playing against this team, because it was here that he was once rejected. When the fans were taking autographs from him at Keenan Stadium, it was a victory of that cricketer's passion and never-say-die spirit.

Chyawanprash is a part of every Indian's life, it reduces diseases and increases energy.
