Ratia: Youth dies due to drug overdose, family members make serious allegations

Dialogue thread, Ratia. The havoc of drug addiction took the life of another youth. On Thursday, 20-year-old Aman Kumar died of drug overdose. Aman was the only son of his parents and only brother of his sister. This young man, who worked in catering with his father, was struggling with drug addiction.

Drug pills and injections were also recovered from his pocket, which confirmed his addiction. On Thursday afternoon, it was reported that Aman was lying unconscious near Kanya School. After this, when the relatives took him to the hospital, he was declared dead. The family members were shocked after Aman's death.

The family accused the police administration and the drug department of openly selling drugs. The family members also got angry at the medical store owners and said that in many medical stores in the city, intoxicating pills are being sold openly, but the police do not take concrete action. The family alleges that they will not perform the last rites until action is taken against the drug sellers.

Got the family treated for their pain, but kept getting drugs from somewhere.

Mukesh Kumar, father of the deceased, told that the son had become addicted to drugs for some time. He had also started his treatment, but the easy availability of drugs from medical stores in the city pushed Aman back into this quagmire. He alleged that some medical stores change their names and start selling drugs again.

The father showed Aman's mobile and claimed that the last number on his phone was that of a drug supplier. Relatives even said that drugs are also sold at many street vendors in the city. He also alleged that the department seals the medical store after merely supplying food and after that the name is changed and the sale of drugs starts.

Police active, many medical stores sealed: DSP

On receiving information about the death of the youth, the police team including DSP Sanjay Singh, acting police station in-charge Kanwar Singh reached the spot. Police officials assured the family of fair action. DSP Sanjay Bishnoi said that a continuous campaign is going on against drugs, so far four medical stores have been sealed. He said that a special team has been formed to investigate the matter and those supplying drugs are being raided.

The cause of death will be clear after post mortem

The Health Department has informed the police about the matter. The body has been kept in the mortuary. Post mortem will be conducted on Friday morning, only after which the cause of death can be finally confirmed. The police were recording the statements of the family members till late night.
