Organized bike theft gang busted in Ranchi

Jagran correspondent, Ranchi. Jagarnathpur police station has exposed an organized gang of bike theft and arrested three accused. Police have recovered a total of eight stolen motorcycles from different places from them. All of them were preparing to sell the bike by changing its number and for this they also made fake documents.

City SP Paras Rana gave information about the matter in a press conference held at the police station. During this time, Jagarnathpur police station in-charge and officers of the raiding team were also present.

Information was received from near Hesag pond

City SP said that on the evening of January 9, the police had received information that some anti-social elements were roaming near Hesag Pond with a stolen motorcycle and were indulging in drug abuse and other illegal activities.

Raids were conducted by forming a special team

Based on the information, on the instructions of the City SP, a special team was formed under the leadership of Jagarnathpur police station in-charge. The team raided Hesag Pond and surrounding areas and arrested three youths along with three stolen motorcycles.

Used to target resorts and isolated places

During interrogation, the accused told the police that they used to target motorcycles parked at resorts, public buildings and other places located near Hesag Pond. After theft, the bikes were called to the customers and sold.

Eight bikes recovered on spot

On the trail of the accused, the police recovered a total of eight stolen motorcycles from different places. Some of these bikes are also without number plates.

The recovered motorcycles include Bullet 3, Splendor Pro 3, Honda Sign 1, Passion Pro 1. The arrested accused include Raj alias Vijay Singh (20 years), Vikas Nagar Road No. 02, Singh Mod, Hatia, Santosh alias Karan Thakur (19 years), Premnagar Road No. 06, Singh Mod, Hatia, Vineet alias Prince Paswan (19 years), Premnagar Road No. 06, Singh Mod, Hatia.

Many cases are already registered

City SP said that several cases of bike theft are already registered against the arrested accused in various police stations. Their criminal history is being investigated in detail.

Search for other associates continues

Police say that many other theft incidents have also come to light during the investigation. Continuous raids are being conducted to arrest other people associated with the gang. Further legal action is underway in the matter.
