Jagran correspondent, Chandauli. A child was crushed to death when a dumper laden with soil overturned out of control on Thursday afternoon on the Leva-Ilia road near Utraut village.

Angered by the incident, the villagers blocked the road. There was commotion at the spot for about three hours. The police removed the crowd with batons. Soil is being transported by dumper for the construction of Bharatmala Expressway.

Chhotu Gupta's seven-year-old son Priyanshu was sitting outside the house near Utraut village located on the Ilia-Leva road. At the same time, a high-speed dumper loaded with soil suddenly went out of control, collided with an electric pole on the roadside and overturned the child on the roadside.

Due to this, Priyanshu died on the spot. The angry villagers blocked the Lewa road by using bamboo poles. Villagers and relatives kept the dead body on the road and started demanding compensation and action. Police area officer Krishna Murari Sharma and Deputy District Magistrate Chakia Vinay Kumar Mishra reached the spot and pacified the villagers.
