Passengers Not Safe Even In AC Coach...Fourth Incident Of Theft In Jalaun In A Week, Questions Raised On Security Arrangements

Jagran correspondent, Jalaun. Apart from Mumbai in Maharashtra, trains coming from Gujarat pass through Jhansi-Kanpur rail section. Thieves are continuously targeting the AC coaches of those trains. Even though these incidents are happening far away from the local station, the way the incidents are happening continuously, fear has started increasing among the travelers and the security system has also started getting exposed.

This is the fourth incident of theft in a train within a week. In just one week, thieves have stolen the hard-earned money of seven passengers. Due to which passengers have also started raising questions regarding security.

Last Tuesday, luggage of three passengers was stolen in Sitapur Express. On the same day, cash and jewelery of two passengers were stolen in Panvel Express going from Panvel to Gorakhpur. Next Wednesday, a passenger's bag was stolen in the Pune-Lucknow Express. Now on Saturday night again an incident of theft happened with a woman in Deccan Express.

In such a situation, questions are being raised regarding safety in trains. Those responsible for security want to absolve themselves of their responsibility by blaming each other or citing the incident being outside, but the way AC coaches which are considered safe are being targeted by thieves. The possibility of involvement of some big gang in this cannot be ruled out.

It is believed that these thefts are being carried out in a planned manner. There is also a possibility of connivance of the concerned personnel in this, because the manner in which thefts are being committed by committing crimes in AC coaches which are considered safe, cannot be called normal.

The SP and CO of GRP have also given instructions to increase the escort during winter days and to be extremely alert to the soldiers traveling in the escort. Despite this, continuous incidents are pointing to flaws in the system. It is true that thieves are continuously targeting Jhansi-Kanpur rail safe AC coaches, but the trains in which the incidents are taking place run on this railway section.

Due to this, there is a situation of fear among the passengers also. Vedprakash, resident of Tulsi Nagar, Shyamu, resident of Patel Nagar, said that it seems that a gang of thieves has camped in the AC coaches of trains coming from Mumbai. In which he is continuously targeting passengers. He says that if this is not controlled then traveling in trains will become unsafe.
