Jagran correspondent, Kanpur. After the successful organization of Mahakumbh-2025, the state government has started preparations for the Magh Mela to be held in Prayagraj. This time 270 Magh Mela special buses will be run from Kanpur region to take the devotees to the fair.
This time, devotees will be able to travel easily through these buses in the fair starting from January 3. Mahesh Kumar, Regional Manager of Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) Kanpur Zone, said that 270 buses will be operated from Kanpur Zone for Magh Mela.
Buses will depart from the bus stand every five to 10 minutes. Transport service will be available 24 hours. On the lines of normal buses, operators will charge fare from passengers. No additional fair surcharge will be charged.
He said that for the convenience of the devotees, the main center of buses will be Major Salman Interstate Bus Stand (Jhakarkati). The operations are divided into different depots for the convenience of passengers. Under this, buses from Mati Depot (Kanpur Dehat), Fatehpur, Unnao Depot will be operated on Prayagraj route.
It will not only have long distance buses but 50 special shuttle buses will also be run. These shuttle buses will drop and bring back the devotees from the outer stands of Prayagraj to the places nearest to the Sangam area, so that the elderly and children do not have to walk.
Buses will be identified by fair stickers, fog lamp and headlight will save in fog
According to the Transport Department, the condition of all the buses will be in good condition and special attention will be paid to the condition and cleanliness of fog lamps, headlights, window catcher, horn seats in these buses and fair stickers will be put on all the buses according to the route so that there is no confusion among the devotees and they can easily board the buses in their area.
The pressure of travelers is highest during Mauni Amavasya, the biggest bath of Magh Mela. For this, preparations are also being made to arrange additional counter and help desk at Major Salman bus stand.
The frequency of buses has been fixed in such a way that no passenger has to wait for more than 10-15 minutes at the bus stand. Along with this, all depot managers have been put on alert for smooth operation of buses. A reserve fleet is also ready to immediately send another bus to replace the buses that break down.

A fleet of 270 buses is ready and officials have been instructed to monitor the route 24 hours a day.
