Digital Desk, Patna. Bullet Train in Bihar: The dream of Bullet Train in Bihar may soon become a reality.
After the announcement in the Union Budget, work on this ambitious project is now expected to start from March. The bullet train running at a speed of 320 to 350 kilometers per hour will pass through major cities of Bihar, which will give a new boost to the connectivity of the state.
According to the budget, two bullet train corridors are proposed, one from Delhi to Varanasi and the other from Varanasi to Siliguri. Travelers from Bihar will have to travel by bullet train via Varanasi to go from Patna to Delhi.
Under this system, the distance from Patna to Delhi can be covered in just four hours. According to the plan, Varanasi-Siliguri bullet train will run via Patna and will complete the journey in 2 hours 55 minutes.
Whereas the journey from Patna to Siliguri will be possible in just 2 hours 5 minutes. Two stations in Bihar – Patna and Katihar – have been proposed on this corridor.
This train, running at a speed of 300 km per hour, will take the passengers to Delhi in just four hours, not 12 or 20 hours, however for this they will have to catch another bullet train from Patna to Varanasi.
A high-level committee will be formed by the end of February to take the project forward. This committee will conduct an aerial survey of the entire route, in which altitude, rivers, forests and other technical aspects will be assessed.

Special training for bullet train in IIT Patna
Indian Railways has intensified preparations for the Bullet Train project. 25 best railway engineers selected from across the country are being given two weeks of special training at IIT Patna.
In this training, special emphasis is being laid on high-speed rail system, track design and modern safety technology.
Since the existing railway tracks are not suitable for high-speed trains, intensive training is being done on new technology, strengthened tracks, advanced signaling systems, maintenance and emergency response.
Railway Director General Animesh Kumar Sinha said that the safety of passengers is paramount and no compromise will be made in this. The speed of trains will be increased only after the introduction of new technology and 'Kavach' system.
Whereas, Director of IIT Patna, Prof. T.N. Singh said that providing speed as well as complete safety to the passengers is the biggest responsibility and no compromise is possible in this.
