Jagran correspondent, Patna. The nomination process for the student union elections in Patna University started from Monday. On the first day, Chandan Kumar of Maithili department filed his nomination for the joint post of Central Panel. The last date for nomination for five Central Panel posts and 22 counselor posts is February 18.
14 counters have been set up for enrollment in JP Anushad Bhawan of the university. Chief Electoral Officer Prof. Shankar Kumar said that nomination forms are being accepted from 10:00 am to 3.30 pm. Only two students can accompany the candidate to the counter.
While submitting the form, the candidate will have to sign that the information and details given by him/her are correct. The form of the candidates who do not follow the rules and information given in the nomination form will be cancelled.
The last date for form submission is 18th February. The list of candidates will be released on 19 February. Candidates can register their election related complaints in the Grievance Cell. The final list of candidates will be released by the university on February 21.
Contact campaign being run by student organization
Student organizations have started election campaigning in colleges, departments and hostels. Members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyalaya Vidyarthi Parishad, student organization AISF, AISA, student RJD, student JDU, NSUA, student LJP (R), AIDSO are continuously maintaining contacts among the students.
However, no student organization has yet announced candidates for any post. It is being told from the student organizations that the candidates will be announced before the nomination. Presently the verification of the candidates is being done at the college and department level.
